Dear all,
Room 2 children have worked very hard in the last two weeks and I'm privileged to be the children's teacher. The class have been investigating 2 and 3 dimensional shapes and their features. This has allowed children to make nets, solid shapes and find diagonals. Lots of great learning talk has been discussed within each learning group and many children have recieved house points due to the quality of their work.
You rock room 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr Wilkins
We the senior students at St Josephs Catholic School in Matamata. We are a bunch of Year 4-6 students, full of fun and laughter. We love to learn and we are always full of great inquiry questions. We enjoy getting out in the afternoon sun for sports and class games.

Investigating Volume
This week Room 2 have been looking at Volume.
We know volume is the amount of space that an object takes up.
Yesteday we investigated how many cubesit would take to fill a range of containers.
First the students made estimates and then worked it out.
Some were close and some not so close, but they all had fun and learnt heaps.
Check out some pics and video below!!

Week 2 Discussion
What do our school values mean to you?
Last week we looked at the value of consideration and how we can show that in our lives.
This week we are going to be thinking about the value of co-operation and what that means for us.
How can you show co-operation in the classroom, in the playground and at home?

Autumn Leaves Creative Writing
Room Two did some fansastic writing today about autumn leaves.
Check it out!!
Autumn leaves fall dancing and zig zagging.
Check it out!!
The leaves crackle when I stand on them.
When I look at the leaves I see firy orange.
The wind makes the leaves slide and twirl to the
ground.
I kick them away with my feet
They go whoosh in the wind as it takes them
drifting on the breeze.
By Reid
I like to see the autumn leaves spotted
different colour. I love the way they crinkle and crunch.
I don’t want to swish them it will make me a
fool.
I watch them flip and flap and dive down past
me.
It’s like the trees all get their hair shaved
off.
By Catherine
There are red, orange and brown leaves drifting
down from the trees.
They sway down one by one, gently landing like
an aeroplane.
We all run through them and they crunch and
crackle like a rusty piece of metal.
The swaying trees are losing their leaves.
I lovely autumn day to play.
By Edward
As I jump through the crackling red crunchy
autumn leaves I start chucking them up to the sky.
They start flipping and zig zagging through the
air.
It looks like pieces of a puzzle falling from
heaven to earth.
They look like purple, red and orange x-rays
with big veins.
By Dominic
Leaves swaying down from the trees.
Red, orange and brown leaves.
The veins look like an x-ray.
They crack when people jump through them.
They crunch like rusty metal.
By Oscar
They look like little boats on the water.
Before all the leaves fall from the trees they
turn orange, yellow, red and purple.
The leaves are all crunching and crackling on
the ground.
Some of the leaves are shaped like hearts and
they fall slowly like an aeroplane landing on the ground.
By Alisha
Come and see them all in class!
Well done Room 2!!!
